SO, TODAY WAS PRETTY AMAZING! I GOT TO PHOTOGRAPH MY FIRST BABY, AND HE WAS JUST SOOOOO DREAMY! BIG SPARKLY EYES LIKE HIS SISTER, AND CREAMY SOFT NEWBORN SKIN – AN ABSOLUTE ANGEL.
WE SPENT THE LOVELIEST SUNDAY MORNING PLAYING WITH SOME ADORABLE LITTLE OUTFITS – AND DEVOURING HIS UNCLE MARK’S SCONES IN BETWEEN TAKES.
I’M LOVING THE BIG SPREADS EVERY TIME I GO TO TAKE PHOTOS, I DO HAVE THE BEST CLIENTS! NOW TAKE A LOOK AT THIS WEE BUNDLE OF LOVELINESS WITH HIS PROUD SISTER MISS AVA, AREN’T THEY GORGEOUS?
Everyone, meet Finn.
He’s just thee most content little baby, I never heard a cheep out of him all morning, not even one wee sob.
We changed outfits, moved him around from place to place – and not a whimper.
I’m so in love with this bow tie, he’s such a stylish little man!
Ava is a doting big sister, but having two of my own (and remembering what it was like) I took Ava aside for her own little mini shoot. My daughter Georgia was the same age when her brother Liam came along, and I think it’s so important that plenty of attention is paid to everyone, not just the new addition. So Ava showed me around her room, and we did a little mini makeover ready for her photos with Finn.
What do you think? Hair, makeup we had the whole works!
I love it!! Of course, Ava’s cousins and besties who live down the lane wanted some of this pampering too. Oh the fun we had, these girls are absolute glamourpusses – hmmm I wonder where they get it from!
Some serious styling! Miss Ava has the most gorgeous bedroom, such lovely little details …
Just look at that little fairy door, how precious is that? I also spied this little pic of Ava as a baby, you can definitely see a family resemblance in Finn.
She has certainly grown since Lauren framed that photo! I love the way this mummy places importance on the little details, she is very creative and has a fab eye for colour.
Just look at the way she has coordinated Ava and Finn for todays photos, so impressive.
MISS AVA KNOWS HOW TO WORK THAT CAMERA ANGLE
Imagine the madness in a decade when these girls are hitting the teenage discos.
Well, that’s if the daddies let them out the door!
While all the lippy applications and hair straightening was happening, Nana was feeding little Finn – all ready for his pics with Ava.
We wanted a nice natural look, as you all know I like to take my photos in a documentary style. I love to tell a story with the images, so anything too formal isn’t going to suit.
It’s all about the little moments. Because, before you know it they’re crawling, then tootling, then wrecking the cupboards!
This time is so precious.
Of course they sleep all day when nobody is watching them. I think little Finn knew what we were up to, and his eyes just didn’t want to close.
Bless him, there was so much excitement!
Look at those little feet! Oh my.
If only you could freeze time, it’s such a cliché but it just goes past far too quickly.
And here it is, the photo that got me tearing up.
Is there a lovelier picture than that moment when a new sister cuddles up with her brand new baby brother.
A heart of stone would crumble at the sight of it, I had to blink the old eyes just taking it.
They are just too cute. And someday they will be looking back over these photos and probably laughing at the thought they ever held hands like this! Somebody might even take them out and wave them around when that first boyfriend or girlfriend comes for dinner.
Finn’s best man may well wave them around at his wedding!
That’s why you have to take these photos, and treasure them.
For you never know the value of a moment, until it becomes a memory.
Thanks so much for having me, it was absolutely wonderful.
