The look that says it all ❤️ our wee world is complete, it was worth the hours of agony, dear good Lord how could she be this cute, and yep we watch her for hours lying asleep looking adorbs with lashes I’d kill for! I spent a very chill afternoon with these stunners, and soon we’ll be picking the print options and likely ganshin for hours as mammy and me could both talk the hind leg off a stool 😂 but I can’t wait to catch up and hopefully see miss Lily Quinn too. Waiting on January to end like... I’ve fifty gazillion messages to answer and I’ve started answering messages from people who were trying to book me weeks ago 🙈 but I make no apology for taking an extended winter holiday. Photography is all consuming during the wedding season, which creeps further and further each year. I remember when I used to start shooting as the clocks jumped forward, now wedding season starts the first weekend in February. I’m quite okay with that though, to be in demand is something to cherish - but we weekend warriors need to live life a little too. So January was rammed with FUN plans. I have had umpteen dinners out, got drunk with friends, missed trains cause I was having way too much craic (@angelacunningphotography) and found my way back to the gym again. Girl’s gotta cancel out all the cocktails somehow! I also kept busy planning my world domination thanks to enrolling in the @fireandice workshop for killer wedding photography. But this week, oh girls it is ON. I have a megawatt client tomorrow and I’ll start taking bookings from now on, although Holy Communion is pretty much booked out bar studio sessions. Wedding season is about to begin, and this years brides are solid gold babes, girls with every message I type and every notification you send I swear I get the buzziest feeling. 2020 we are going to smash it outta the park ❤️ and as you’ll see from my insta stories I’m shooting on team Magill too, this fun little moment was from one of our pre Xmas weddings. Some photographers stuff their insta grids with fakery, styled shoots that let on to be real weddings ah it all goes on in here. You’ll notice I don’t share all that many portraits or couples photos at all, let me tell you all a little more about why that is. I watch couples closely when they come in to view their galleries, they are glued to the images so of course they don’t see. But I’m watching to see which photos they react to, from big laughs to tears. And I can tell you for sure that the beautiful epic photos halfway up a mountain, just the two of them, well that’s not what’s giving them big fat tears. Couples love hard on the moments they missed, when they were otherwise engaged, hugging a neighbour. This particular shot is from the queue up to hug and kiss the newlyweds, and I’m just certain, 110% certain, that this will be a photo they’ll treasure. It’s one of those photographs that will only get more valuable with the passage of time. Look super closely and you can face the same dilemma as me, if that’s her daddy laughing hard at the top of the queue then yay! I’ve quite a few gorgeous little nieces now, today I was updating portraits for these two. It’s a real pleasure, and it always makes me think on why I picked up that camera in the first place. Time flies by, and as kids get older sometimes parents don’t prioritize capturing their milestones in the same way. I know because I’ve done it myself. Did anyone else get a teenager for Christmas? God love you if you did 🙈 thankfully santa brought me a new lens to make up for it.
